HFCL staff denied entry on factory premises

Following alleged imposition of a ban on the entry of workers by the management, work at Himachal Futuristic Company Limited at Chambaghat came to a halt today. Irked over the alleged unilateral decision of the management of the factory, the workers assembled outside the factory8217;s main gate and raised slogans.

Trouble started when the employees of the unit formed an independent union after withdrawing their association with the Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangathan BMS. They alleged that some leaders of BMS were siding with the management. The workers were demanding a hike in their basic salary, beside various other benefits under the provision of existing labour laws and directions from the state government.

They said the management of the factory had ordered transfer of one of their colleagues to Delhi without any valid reason. They said the issue was taken up with the management, but when the employees went for work today, they were asked to sign on certain documents. After their refusal, their entry was banned on the factory premises.
