NAGPUR, JANUARY 5: The headmistress and an assistant teacher of the Hindu Mulinchi Shala at Mahal here were booked Tuesday, by the Kotwali police for allegedly issuing show-cause notices to some of the school teachers against a forged order of the Zilla Parishad (ZP) Education Officer.
The police action follows a directive issued by the court of a judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) before whom the school management had filed a complaint against headmistress Kalpana Tupe and assistant teacher Sudha Dani.
According to police, Tupe on May 29, last year, had issued show-cause notices to some of the school teachers demanding an explanation as to why action should not be taken against them for running private tuition classes in contravention to the prevailing rules.
When Tupe was asked about her action, at a school management meeting held subsequently, she told the management that she was bound for an action as per an order issued by the Education Officer (EO). She even forwarded a photocopy of the EO’sorder to the management.
On an enquiry by some of the management members, it was found that the ZP EO had issued no such letter as was forwarded to them by Tupe.
