HC reserves order on plea

The Jharkhand High Court today reserved its order on the writ petition by JMM chief Shibu Soren challenging the arrest warrant against him by Jamtara Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate SDJM court in connection with the 1975 Chirrudih massacre.

When the HC division bench comprising Chief Justice P.K. Balasubramanyan and Justice S.J. Mukhopadhyay asked why the petitioner was not surrendering before the SDJM court, Soren8217;s counsel R.K. Jain pleaded that the issuance of the warrant was politically motivated. Countering the petitioner8217;s claim, Jharkhand Advocate General A.K. Sinha said such claims are common whenever a politician is sent to jail. 8212;PTI
