Not ones to miss out on singing paeans to their leaders on such momentous occasions, posters came up across New Delhi, small processions were taken out and a congregation outside Rahul8217;s house wanted a glimpse of the Congress8217;s leader of the future. The Gandhi scion never surfaced, prompting media speculation that he wanted to keep the day private. It now emerges that Rahul had his own plans. He had left the country almost a week earlier for some undisclosed destination. But Congresswallahs, it seems, did not buy the truth when it was told to them.
