Led by an all-round performance from skipper Harmanpreet Singh 81 runs and 3 for 19 helped St Stephen8217;s School, Sector 45 blank Saupin8217;s School, Sector 26 by 146 runs in the inaugural match of the fifth Molly Carver Cricket Cup for High Schools held at the St Stephen8217;s School ground on Tuesday.

Harmanpreet elected to bat first after winning the toss and the decision proved fruitful as St Stephen8217;s batsmen piled on runs and made 254 runs for the loss of six wickets in 30 overs. The openers Harmanpreet and Guraunak put the foundation for the big total as they put on 79 runs for the first wicket. Harmanpreet was in good nick as he hit six boundaries and four towering sixes during his knock. Guraunak8217;s knock of 38 runs included two boundaries and two huge sixes. Karan Partap Singh bagged two wickets for Saupin8217;s School.

In reply, Saupin8217;s School were skittled out for just 108 runs in 24.5 overs. Anupam Saini top scored with 32 runs while Karan Partap chipped in with a useful knock of 26 runs. Left hand spinner 3 for 19 and medium pacer Talwinderjeet Singh 3 for 22 rocked Saupin8217;s School batting with their accurate bowling.
