GSM average revenue dips 7.4 in Q2

The all India average revenue per user ARPU per month for GSM service operators has declined by 7.4 per cent to Rs 275 for the quarter ending September 2007 as against Rs 297 for the previous quarter ending June, 2007. According to the figures released the telecom regulator, for the post-paid service, ARPU has declined by 3.5 per cent from Rs 655 for the first quarter ending June to Rs 632 in the second quarter this year. On pre-paid segment, it has declined 7.2 per cent to Rs 230 for second quarter from Rs 248 in the first quarter.

In the CDMA space, ARPU stood at Rs 173 for the September quarter as compared to Rs 206 in June 2007, Trai said in its quarterly performance indicators of Indian telecom services for the quarter ending September, 2007.
