AMBALA, Aug 11: Students of the Government Girls Polytechnic, Ambala, continued their indefinite strike for the seventh day today, with some of them making a futile attempt to enter the premises to mark their presence.
The striking students are demanding withdrawal of fee hike and recovery of outstanding charges of the electricity tariff from those occupying hostel accommodation.
Yesterday, the students of Government Polytechnic for Boys had called off their strike, after an assurance by the authorities that their demands would be met receiving orders from the higher authorities.
PNB branch opened
Deputy Commissioner Navraj Sandhu opened the new branch of Punjab National Bank at the local D.A.V. College here today. Deputy general manager R.K. Rehani assured provision of best customer service. Regional manager B.P. Chopra and lead district manager V.K. Bakshi also spoke on the occasion.
