A move is afoot to curtail the Winter Session of Parliament, sources disclosed here on Wednesday.

Normally, the Winter Session begins around November 20 and ends a little before Christmas. The Government, according to sources, is inclined to get the Session underway after Diwali, which falls on November 9, and wrap it up after a fortnight or so.

The sources disclosed the Government has already sounded the Left on the move and there appears no reservation at that end. The Government would reach out to the Opposition BJP and try getting it on board.
