Former All-England champion Pullela Gopi Chand overcame initial sluggishness to beat Rutuparna Kulkarni India 15-5, 15-4 in the second round match of the Asian Satellite Badminton Championship which got underway at Swarnandhra Indoor stadium at Gachibowli here today.

Top seed Abhinn Shyam Gupta too recorded a facile victory when he breezed past Naser Zadeh Foud of Iran 15-5, 15-1 while third seed Chetan Anand struggled in the first game before finishing off Diluke Karunaratne of Sri Lanka 15-11, 15-4 in 25 minutes. Indonesia8217;s Rosobin Jeffer waged a fierce battle with Antony Joy T India before coasting home to a 15-11, 15-2 win.
