Gomes 8216;tricks for Holy Cross

James Gomes scored a hat-trick to lead his team Holy Cross United from Kurla to a 3-0 victory over Dadar United in their opening game in the Mahindra Mumbai District Football Association MDFA Division I-C at the St Xavier8217;s ground in Parel on Tuesday. The Dadar outfit have had a mixed season so far, but have lots of work on their hands with just one win up their sleeves.

Borovlian Stead Fast also made a winning start to their campaign in Division III this season, by overcoming Western Railway Protection Force WRPF 1-0. Abhishek Narkar scored the clincher for Borovlian in the very closely contested III-B encounter. WRPF had started their season with a 1-1 draw, and will be hoping to launch a comeback after their reversal today.

Meanwhile, in Division III-C, Strikers struck out PD Hinduja 1-0 with a strike from Chandras Panchal.
