PANAJI, May 29: Maharashtra hogged the day8217;s limelight with three gold medals in the Sub-junior and Junior National Diving Championship which commenced here today.

In the evening session, Harish Amaldas helped Maharashtra gain a second gold in the one metre spring board boys Group I with 454.45 points.

Avni Shah then brought cheers in the Maharashtra camp bagging three gold medals in the 3-metre spring board for girls in Group III with 202.1 points.

Earlier in the morning session, Madan S Jawlekar moved up with a gold medal with 234.65 points in the high board boys Group II.

In the one-metre spring board boys Group I, a close tussle was between Sachin Tripathi and Deepak Chetri of Goa for silver medal but finally Tripathi came second with five point defence.

RESULTS

Boys Group I 1-metre spring board: 1. Harish Amaldas Mah 454.45, 2.Sachin Tripahty UP 422.70, 3. Deepak Chetri Goa 422.65

Girls Group III 3-metre spring board: 1. Avni Shah Mah 202.1, 2. Ashwini Mohite Kar198.6, 3. Deepa Ambre Goa 190.6.
