India maintained their dominance at the women’s Asia Cup as they comprehensively defeated Singapore 16-0 in their second match and remained ahead of China in the pool standings by a two-goal difference after the latter had earlier beaten Thailand by 15-0 in Hong Kong today.

In contrast to China who blazed away at Thailand from the opening whistle, India’s forwards were patient for the initial part of the match with their first goal coming in the 17th minute when the captain Mamta Kharab converted the team’s first penalty corner.

But after Kharab netted her second, a field goal in the 19th minute to make the score 3-0, the flood gates began to open.

In the final analysis, Mamta Kharab netted five, Surinder Kaur, Jasjeet Kaur Saba Anjum scored three goals each while Rani Ritu and Deepika Thakur netted one goal apiece.
