
Umpire Randell faces trial for sex charges
HOBART: Australia8217;s top international cricket umpire, Steve Randell, will go on trial in July on sex charges involving 14 girls and a boy, a court decided today.
The Tasmanian supreme court set a July 21 trial date for Randell, who has pleaded not guilty to 32 charges of indecent assault and sexual intercourse involving the 15 alleged victims, including a boy under the age of 17.
Randell has umpired an Australian record 36 Tests. He has been suspended on full pay from his job as a Hobart primary school teacher.

MILAN: AC Milan were crowned champions of Italy for the 16th time in the club8217;s history, as they swept to a 2-1 win over Perugia.
Argentinian winger Andres Guglielminpietro opened the scoring at Perugia in the 11th with a low shot on the edge of the area. German Oliver Bierhoff made it 2-0 in the 31st.
Perugia pulled one back just three minutes later when Japanese playmaker Hidetoshi Nakata converted a penaltyafter Croatian striker Milan Rapajc was tripped in the area.
WWF wrestler killed
KANSAS CITY: A professional wrestler plunged 50 feet 15 metres to his death in a freak accident which shocked ringside fans and fellow wrestlers.
Canadian Owen Hart, alias Blue Blazer, died Sunday when he fell on his head as he was being lowered into the ring from a wire at the start of a pay-per-view World Wrestling Federation match. The show was halted for 15 minutes before resuming to complete the rest of the matches on the card. Commentator Jim Ross repeated over and over to the audience that Hart8217;s fall was not scripted, as professional wrestling matches openly are.
