Gimelstob apologises for radio rant

The governing body of men's tennis, the ATP, said comments made by newly-elected board member Justin Gimelstob about several women players were unacceptable.

The governing body of men8217;s tennis, the ATP, said comments made by newly-elected board member Justin Gimelstob about several women players were unacceptable. The 31-year-old American, who retired from the tour last year, made his remarks while being interviewed on a radio chat show broadcast in the Washington DC area. Apart from saying he wanted to make former Russian top-10 player Anna Kournikova cry he also called French players Tatiana Golovin and Alize Cornet 8220;sexpots8221; and said Czech player Nicole Vaidisova was a 8220;well-developed young lady.8221;

Gimelstob has since issued a statement, apologising for his remarks. 8220;There is no excuse and I am extremely disappointed in myself. I take full responsibility for all the words that came out of my mouth,8221; he said.
