CHANDIGARH, NOV 29: Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, lifters gave an excellent account of their performance to win top honours in the Panjab University Inter-College women8217;s weightlifting championship at PU Indoor Hall here today. GGS-26 with 22 points lifted the title. Govt College for Girls-11 took the second spot with 17 points. SD College-32 and MCM DAV College-36 were joint third with 8 points each.

The best performance of the day was, however, in the 48kg category when Reena of SD College-32, with a total of 107.5kg snatch 45kg, jerk 62.5kg got first place.

Rupinderdeep Kaur 69kg and Harpreet Kaur plus 75kg were the other two lifters whose total were above 100kg. Both the players bagged gold medals in their respective categories.

Rupinderdeep had a total lift of 115kg s 50kg, j 65kg while Harpreet8217;s total was 112.5kg s 52.5kg, j 60kg. Renu Prabha 53kg, Vidhushi Tyagi 58kg, Madhulika Chandel 63kg and Sangeeta Tushir 75kg were other players to win gold medals in their respective groups.
