VADODARA, Feb 8: While expressing gratitude over Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel8217;s decision to appoint Gujarat Administrative Services GAS Ex-Cadre Officers as Collector and District Development Officer DDO in the newly created districts and enhance the GAS ex-cadre posts from 25 per cent to 33.5 per cent, the GAS Ex-cadre Officer8217;s Association has sought an appointment with Patel to discuss other pending issues.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Association president H S Patel solicited a meeting to discuss issues such as filling up enhanced IAS promotion posts at one strength instead of a staggered basis, granting periodical time to GAS officers and review of IAS cadre strength in the State.
Delegation of powers to the Additional Collector Coordination in the nine districts, issuance of notification increasing quota of promotion to IAS from 25 per cent to 33.5 per cent, encadrement of ex-cadre posts in the GAS cadre schedule, creation of posts of additional DDO in the District Panchayat and policy for career development of GAS officers are among the other points of discussion put forth by the Association.
Patel said since a number of issues among those represented to the CM had no financial implications, the Association was confident that pending problems of the GAS ex-cadre officers would be positively resolved8217;.
