If everything goes to plan, by the year-end Kolkata will have Saurav’s, a restaurant to be located at Park Street in central Kolkata and owned by Indian cricket captain Saurav Ganguly.

‘‘The name may be Ganguly’s also,’’ the cricket captain told this reporter. ‘‘I have not yet decided on it. I have made a large investment in it. Let me see. Talks are still going on with various parties involved in the project and I hope interior work will start soon.’’

Dona Ganguly, his wife, seemed to be quite excited about the project. ‘‘I hope work will start in two-three day’s time,’’ Dona said.

Ganguly has tied up with Abhishek Food and Entertainment Pvt Ltd, a Kolkata-based concern, to run the project.

The four-storeyed building built recently has been leased to Ganguly by owner Saumitra Sau. ‘‘But the agreement is yet to be signed. I hope it will be done soon,’’ Sau said.

The restaurant promises to be a major attraction for both food and cricket connoiseurs. The ground floor will have a coffee shop to be called Garden of Eden where customers will be able to see cricket gear used by Ganguly and other members of Team India. The first floor will be meant for vegetarians and the second floor will be a multi-cuisine restaurant for non-vegetarians. And at the third floor there will be sports lounge bar to be called Prince of Calcutta.
