
GAIL India Limited has once again made a strong pitch for its 956 km Kakinada-Uran gas pipeline project and has contested that the tariffs offered by it are 16 per cent cheaper than what has been proposed by Reliance8217;s subsidiary-GTICL for transporting gas from the Krishna Godavari Basin.
In a press statement, GAIL has quoted a presentation made in the petroleum ministry in April by both GAIL and GTICL on the applicable tariffs for the transportation of gas from the KG basin. 8220;While no specific tariff was indicated by GTICL in its presentation, GAIL confirmed a tariff of 0.39 per mmbtu for transportation of gas by its KUPL pipeline8221;. 8212;PTI
