Full Of Verve MUMBAI must be a little dull these days as all the city8217;s movers and shakers can be found in London. The reason: Anuradha Mahindra8217;s party at Chor Bizarre. On the day of the UK-launch of Verve, this posh Indian restaurant, located in Mayfair, was bursting at the seams. The who8217;s who of the Indian party circuit turned up in full force. Among those spotted there were Vimla Lalvani better known as the yoga trainer to the stars, Lady Aruna Paul, Lord Bagri and Karan Kapoor 8212; as usual he was surrounded by adoring women. Mingling with their NRI friends were Mumbai8217;s best-known faces. Artist M F Husain was there on a two-week-long holiday. After the heat he has been under in Mumbai, he looked in need of a break. He spent most of the evening in conversation with Christie8217;s Amrita Jhaveri who was in town as the auction house is holding a special exhibition of Indian art. Helen Brodie, Verve8217;s new cover girl, was a conversation stopper in her long black dress 8212; which showed off her new eventrimmer figure to perfection.

Nearly 400 people turned up and even Anuradha, dressed in a red Tarun Tahiliani outfit, was not expecting such a huge turnout. No one even seemed to notice that the guest of honour, Dimple Kapadia, did not make an appearance. It seems that she was stuck in Mumbai. But for those at the party, nothing could dampen their spirits. They were too busy drinking bubbly and munching on kebabs. If they had a free hand, they were using it to have mehendi applied. Like India Hicks. On one hand, it was mehendi and with the other, she was seen holding a copy of Verve.
