KHARAR, Sept 29: Kharar Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate SDJM Neelam Arora has chargesheeted four persons, including the wife of the complainant, for voluntarily causing injuries to a retired major and committing house trespass by entering into his building.

The court has framed charges against the accused Jasbir Singh, Baljit Singh, Kulwant Singh, all residents of Chandigarh, and Ranjit Kaur, wife of the complainant and resident of SAS Nagar.

The SDJM has directed that all the accused shall be tried and punished by the trial court for the offences. Major retd Harmohinder Singh, who is also a secretary of the World Human Rights Protection Council, had filed a complaint through his counsel that his wife Ranjit Kaur, along with Kulwant Singh, Jasbir Singh and Baljit Singh, had threatened him with taking forcible possession of his house and eliminating him.

But, paying no respect to the court orders, the accused, in connivance with the then SHO of the Phase VIII police station, beat up Harmohinder Singh, his widowed mother and Surinder Singh.
