
CHANDIGARH, Dec 2: A flying squad will be constituted by the Punjab labour department to check the implementation of labour laws. This was decided at a meeting of the State Labour Advisory Board which was chaired by Balramji Dass Tandon, Minister of Labour. The flying squad will be headed by a senior official of the department.
Participants in the meeting included representatives of trade unions, employers and Provident Fund Commissioner besides the Principal Secretary, Labour and Employment department and Labour Commissioner, Punjab. The minister announced that an Overseas Employment Cell would be provided facilities like Internet connectivity for those seeking employment abroad.
Tandon stated that District Level Tripartite Committees have been constituted in all districts of Punjab for redressal of grievances and implementation of labour laws.
