The new address of over 8,000 Bihar flood victims is the East-West Corridor at Supaul. The displaced have found a home at the mega road project site, which they feel would never be submerged by the Kosi. 8220;This road is our real saviour. When we ran for life from the flooded villages, this road provided us refuge and is no less than the God for us,8221; said Kishan Sav of Pratapganj.

The plight of the displaced is clear along the wide and elevated stretch of road. While the children are seen stretching their tiny hands for a grain of food, women narrate their stories of woes with their husbands away. The elders called it the worst-ever devastation by Kosi. The homeless, mostly women, children and the old, said no other place would have been safer with the presence of police and fellow villagers.

Most of those who have taken shelter here are from Chhatapur, Pratapganj and Triveniganj villages, which have been engulfed by the Kosi.
