MUMBAI, AUG 14: A flat owner was beaten to death by his tenant and an associate on Friday night at Saki Naka.

According to the police, Motul Lajar, a resident of Safed Pool, and had kept a tenant at his house by the name of Krishna Nair since the last 11 months. About two days ago, Nair brought another friend to stay with him in the house.

When Lajar objected to this, a fight ensued between them, and Nair along with his friend started hitting Lajar with bamboo sticks. He was later taken to the Rajawadi hospital where he was declared dead before admission. A case of murder has been registered at Saki Naka police station and the police is on the lookout for the duo.

He was addressing students of the SIES College after inaugurating the art exhibition of Nirman Olwe, a Std IIstudent.He said that while democratic aspirations have eclipsed from various parts of the world, India continues to be an inspiration and beacon light for a free society.

The exhibition, which concludes on Sunday, consists of 50 paintings and consists of political caricatures of various leaders. The young artist will be donating 25 percent of the collection to the soldiers who fought at Kargil.
