He made an impact in Jodhaa Akbar. Now catch Punjab8217;s own Sonu Sood as the romantic lead

Sonu Sood, best remembered as Sujamal in Jodhaa Akbar, is finally playing the romantic lead. He will be seen serenading khallas girl Eesha Koppikhar in Ek Vivah8212; Aisa Bhi releasing this November. With this film, the 33-year-old actor has two reasons to smile. 8220;I will finally be doing something other than action and I8217;ll get to play the guitar,8221; smiles Sood. Shooting is complete for the Kaushik Ghatak directed film who8217;s previously directed Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi and Sanjivni. Sood insists the film will be completely different from Ghatak8217;s specialty, of saas bahu dramas. But cheesy family dramas are Rajshri Productions8217; forte, remember? 8220;I play Prem an aspiring singer from Bhopal who meets Esha and falls in love with her voice. He has to wait for 12 years until he can marry her,8221; says Sood, sounding optimistic about the screen play. Typically, Koppikar8217;s character is simple and blemish free, a pretty girl who plays the harmonium and worships a tulsi plant in her courtyard. Clicheacute;d though the plot may sound, playing a romantic lead in a Rajshri Production is a big step for a bit actor like Sood.
