An FIR was lodged tonight against External Affairs Minister and senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha for alleged violation of election code of conduct during a poll meeting here this evening, sub-divisional officer B.K. Sinku said.
Besides Sinha, the FIR was lodged also against three other BJP leaders — C.P. Singh, Ranchi MLA, local leaders Sanjay Seth and Gama Singh — who participated in the meeting at Piska More, Sinku added.
The FIR was lodged at Sukhdev Nagar against Sinha and the three BJP leaders for alleged obstruction of traffic during a poll meeting, which comes under violation of election code of conduct, the SDO said.
‘‘There was a streetplay followed by the poll meeting at Piska More which was attended by Sinha and three BJP leaders which disrupted traffic for two hours, this comes under violation of election code of conduct,’’ the sdo said.
Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar said: ‘‘Video photographs of the meeting will be sent to the state Chief Electoral Officer.’’
