
PATIALA, March 22: The Punjab Driver Operators Union of Punjab State Electricity Board today alleged the the board is facing huge financial losses in transport section due to the wrong policies and apathy of the board authorities.
Jaspal Singh Aujala, general secretary of the union, in a statement here today alleged that unauthorised board employees were driving the official vehicles instead of the appointed drivers resulting in many accidents leading to heavy losses. Aujala also alleged that duplicate spare parts were being used in the board vehicles where as bills for the original parts had been claimed by the officials. He demanded a through probe against the defaulters to improve the financial position of the board. The board authorities however, rejected the charges levelled by the Union and said that the matter would be sorted out soon.
