CHENNAI, June 22: The Film Employees’ Federation of South India has ruled out the formation of a separate union for Tamil film employees. FEFSI Chief S Vijayan also warned against attempts to split the federation by the Tamil Film Producers’ Council. Vijayan said it would not be possible for the Council to set up a separate union for the State alone, and operate shooting schedules with only these members. Meanwhile, 50 playback singers will perform at Chennai on July 31, to mark the completion of 50 years of Tamil cinema.
