PUNE, April 29: Felix Francis of PGI defeated Samar Khandelwal of Deccan Gymkhana 3-0 to enter the final of the PGI Inter-Club Sports Carnival snooker championship in progress at the Poona Club tables.
It was easy sailing for Francis as he wiped out his rival by an easy margin of 53-39, 78-49, 63-14.
In the second semi-final of the day, Vignesh Sanghvi of Poona Club outplayed teammate Girish Damle 71-41, 76-6, 75-27 to meet Felix Francis in the final today.
Blind chess tourney from today
Maharashtra Chess Association for the Blind will be conducting a State tournament of chess for the blind in collaboration with the Poona Blind Men8217;s Association at the Assembly Hall of the Technical Training Institute of the Poona Blind Men8217;s Association, Hadapsar, from April 30 to May 2.
A total of 150 players from all over Maharashtra will be participating in the tournament. The winner will receive the PBMA trophy while the first ten winners will get prizes. There are consolation prizes for all the other participants.
Mountain biking demonstration
Paradise Country Club, Trishakti Foundation and Rangsangraham will be organising an adventure sports camp at Paradise Country, Kadve village from May 1 to 3.
The camp will see the participation of children in the age group of 10 to 16 years and will include activities like trekking, star gazing, rappling, rock climbing, martial arts, slide shows and so on.
As part of the activities, a demonstration of Mountain Biking will also be organised May 1 at 4.30 p.m.
