NEW DELHI, May 8: Chief metropolitan magistrate Prem Kumar today extended the police custody remand of Prem Singh Fauji8217; 8212; a 45-year-old retired Army jawan 8212; by five days. Fauji has been accused of killing five youth who allegedly had affairs with his mistress Sunita.

In 1990 Fauji brought Sunita from Baghpat to live with him, his wife and five children in his Dhaka village house at Mukherjee Nagar. However, she soon started meeting other men and was allegedly having affairs with Fauji8217;s tenants.

The first of the ex-serviceman8217;s prey were the sons of the DTC chief general manager 8212; Shadaab and Arsad Jafri 8212; who had been invited to lunch by Sunita on July 13, 1997.

Things took a turn for the worse when Sunita eloped with Delhi University student and Fauji8217;s tenant Abhay. They were later married in Dhanbad.

An enraged Fauji abducted Abhay8217;s friend Ajay and kept him at his dairy in Jharoda. Ajay8217;s body was found in Samaipur Badli on April 15.

Fauji also abducted Abhay8217;s brothers 8212; Aditya and August. Their bodies were found on April 26, one in Samipur Badli, the other in Timar Pur.

There was another twist when Sunita committed suicide in Dhanbad. Her husband Abhay was arrested and is currently in Dhanbad jail for allegedly abetting her suicide. Hearing this Fauji broke down and confessed; he said that he hired his tenant Raju to help him commit the crimes.
