SURAT, July 27: The Mahidharpura police are investigating a case where two persons allegedly kidnapped a 10-year-old boy from Suthar Falia in Galemandi on Sunday evening and have been demanding Rs 2 lakh for his release.

According to Vinodchandra Mehta, his son, Robin alias Lallo, was kidnapped by two persons from his area.

In a complaint lodged with the Mahidharpura police, he said that Robin was kidnapped by one Nitin, who lured him by promising him a pair of jeans.

Nitin took the boy from his house on a scooter GBD 8126 and delivered the ransom note through one Bharat Vala, who was also involved in the kidnapping, Mehta said, adding that both the accused were 8220;hooligans8221; of Galemandi area.

The Mahidharpura police have registered a case of kidnapping under sections 363, 366 and 114 of the IPC and say that kidnappers would be arrested soon.
