BANGALORE, JANUARY 30: A 21-day cue sports festival gets under way at Karnataka State Billiards Association from Monday. The `fest’ starts with the 8th Women’s Snooker Nationals followed by women’s billiards and culminates with junior snooker and billiards. Interspersed will be the high-profile Men’s Senior Billiards and Snooker, a fare that should delight any connoisseur.

The glamour value of the fest has gone a couple of indices down with the withdrawal of the most glamourous name of cue sports in the country Geet Sethi, who has chosen to play in the UK circuit.

Thus, the spotlight shifts on to the likes of Asian Games gold medallist Ashok Shandilya and former world professional runner-up Devendra Joshi. In the women’s section, Farah Khan of the host state is hot favourite to retain the double she bagged in Delhi last year.
