BANGALORE Nov 25: The police team, investigating into last week’s bomb blast in Hyderabad that killed 25 people and left 30 more injured, is now trying to apprehend two main suspects behind the blast, Suryanarayana Reddy and his associate P Lakshmi Reddy.

Suryanarayana, hailing from Ananthpura is the cousin of Ramana Reddy an MLA. Suryanarayana Reddy’s father Narayana Reddy was a former MLA from Ananthpur. Recently, Suryanarayana Reddy had purchased some land in Chikkaregodu village near Gouribidanur.

The family feud between former minister Paritala Ravi and Suryanarayana Reddy had led to the blast and the main target was Paritala. So far, 16 members of both the families have lost their lives due to this family feud, sources said.

The sources said that Paritala Ravi’s father Sri Ramulu, was fighting against feudalism in Ananthpur district. However, he was murdered by a gang. Names of Narayana Reddy and his brother Channa Reddy also figured in this murder.

Later, Suryanarayana Reddy’s family, including his father and his sister were killed in a television bomb blast and Paritala Ravi’s hand was suspected behind the act. The police now suspect that Suryanarayana Reddy had planted the bomb to avenge the killing of his family.

According to sources, the police have taken three persons into the custody for interrogation. Suraynarayana’s sister-in-law Seema, a car mechanic Khaleel and another car mechanic who had repaired the car in which the bomb was planted. All the four are taken to Hyderabad for further interrogation.Suryanarayana Reddy had purchased the car in the name of Rangappa. His associate P Lakshmi Reddy helped him in the deal while Khaleel had seen the car and approved it for buying. Another mechanic had repaired the car before it left for Hyderabad.

Meanwhile,Narasimha Reddy, the police sub-inspector of Tilak Park police station in Tumkur, was questioned by the Andhra Pradesh police team. Narasimha had married Suryanarayana’s sister who was killed in the television set blast some years ago.

Narasimha has reportedly told the police that he had cut off his relationship with his in-laws after his wife was killed. According to sources, the bomb device used in the blast was first of its kind in India. The bomb was planted in the door of the car and was detonated through a remote control of the burglars alarm. The alarm device was Singapore made and was purchased in the Bangalore.

My assessment was correct, says RaviHyderabad: Former minister Paritala Ravi, who was the target of the recent bomb blast in the city, has expressed satisfaction over the progress of investigation so far. Addressing a press conference at his residence for the first time after the incident, Ravi said that the facts established by the police were nearer to the “assessment” made by him immediately after the blast which claimed 24 lives. Ravi, who faced threat from Naxalites as well, ruled out the possibility of the People’s War Group (PWG) having engineered the blast. “In what way will they benefit by killing me?” he asked. Terming the deaths of several innocent persons as “inhuman”, he said it was unfortunate that some persons took the lives of as many as 24 people just to wreak “personal vengeance”. He would provide all possible financial assistance to the kin of the deceased.
