V. Ranganathan, the printer and publisher of The Indian Express Mumbai, passed away on Friday. He was 85. Ranganathan8217;s association with the newspaper spans over half a century.

He worked as circulation manager, an administrator, an industrial policy expert and finally, the printer and publisher of the Mumbai edition. A close associate of The Indian Express founder Ram Nath Goenka, he was credited with setting up the newspaper8217;s base in Mumbai. 8216;8216;He was one of the foundations on which this company was built,8217;8217; said Vivek Goenka, chairman and MD of the Board.

Ranganathan8217;s services in the field of circulation8212;of both The Indian Express and its sister publication, Marathi newspaper Loksatta8212;are a legend.
