For years now, women8217;s cricket body in India has been doggedly trying to tie up with the BCCI, but to no avail. With the recent change of guard at the helm in the men8217;s cricket body, the Women8217;s Cricket Association of India WCAI has finally decided to make a fresh bid.
Giving itself a week8217;s time to present its case before the Sharad Pawar-led BCCI top brass, the WCAI will seek more specific help this time round 8212; setting up base at the National Cricket Academy NCA in Bangalore.
WCAI secretary Shubhangi Kulkarni gave a lowdown of what exactly the women8217;s body is expecting from the BCCI. 8220;Instead of requesting a mere merger, we want the BCCI to support us with infrastructure,8221; she said.
