BOGOTA: The Colombian Supreme Court has confirmed the 43-year jail sentence passed by the country’s Court Of Appeal on the man who confessed to the murder on July 2, 1994 of Colombian international defender Andres Escobar in Medellin, judicial sources said on Wednesday.
Escobar was killed after his own goal against the US ensured that the Colombians, highly-fancied before the tournament, were eliminated in the 1st round.
