
MUMBAI, June 20: Large scale cross voting by a section of its legislators in Thursday8217;s Rajya Sabha elections cast a shadow over the 32nd anniversary celebrations of the Shiv Sena.
At a function held in hotel Rang Sharada in Bandra, Sena chief Bal Thackeray expressed concern over the 8220;gross indiscipline8221; in the party and asked his party workers to teach a lesson to legislators who indulged in cross voting for money. 8220;We will find out the names of such legislators and then we will beat them with shoes,8221; Thackeray thundered.
Thackeray pointed out that despite the obvious strength of the alliance, Shiv Sena nominees 8212; columnist Pritish Nandy and sitting MP Satish Pradhan 8212; could not get through in the first round.
