Their marriage may be made in heaven, but it was celebrated in Lucknow, far away from the United Kingdom. The land from where comes the bride Elizabeth, distantly connected to the Royal Family.

In a perhaps first of its kind celebrations, English bride from a Queen8217;s family wedded a desi, Aman Chandra in the presence of some 40 residents from UK.

And when we call it first of its kind, we have reasons galore. Traditional Indian baraat dancing on the tunes of Bollywood numbers was received in a true Indian welcome aarti style by bride8217;s parents 8211; Pual Scott and Jenet.

8220;It8217;s a ritual that touches you,8221; says Scott who did burst into tears when Bidai took place. 8220;We have seen Indian marriages in Hindi films, now we are experiencing it and getting answers to high emotional quotients depicted in those movies,8221; says Scott as he hugs son-in-law when he touches his feet.

The long hours spent in chanting of vedic mantras in English and Hindi by Pandit Radha Krishna Tripathi and his disciple Krishna Murari Pandey was again both spiritual and innovative. 8220;We wanted guests, majority from London, to be a part of proceedings and hence the arrangements,8221; says Dr Girish Chandra, groom8217;s father who is settled in England since 1968.

8220;My roots are here and I come calling whenever I can manage. Since it was wedding time, celebrations were a must at home,8221; says mother Dr Veer Bala Chandra, who like her hubby did her MBBS from KGMC, Lucknow.

But why not an Indian bride, as is the craze amongst Indians settled abroad? 8220;Elizabeth is too good a Bahu,8221; says the Saas adding love knows no boundaries. 8220;Aman and Elizabeth were studying medicine in London when there love blossomed,8221; she reveals the plot. 8220;But it is purely an arranged marriage as the nod from both the side was taken by the couple before they committed to each other,8221; says sister Anjali as brother Alok shake a leg with his Bhabhi8217;s friend Chris. 8220;Indian wedding is truly amazing,8221; avers Chris while readying for a pose during jaimaal. As for the bride and groom: 8220;Ceremonies are unending and so is the fun.8221;
