The Election Commission slammed the brakes on Chief Minister Narendra Modi8217;s Narmada Pujan Yatra today, hours after it took off this morning.
The ruling came on a Congress complaint that it was in 8216;8216;flagrant violation of the model code8221;. The yatra was in celebration of the Narmada Control Authority8217;s decision to increase the dam height to 110 metres.
The yatra was suspended near Dabhoi in Vadodara, 55 km from the dam site in Kevadia. But not before he slammed Congress chief Sonia Gandhi for not sharing the happiness of the people.
