If you remember Gaurav Kapur, it would be for his pranks and antics that once passed off as veejaying on television, not for the blink-and-you-would-miss appearances in movies. Now he is hoping his third film Bad Luck Govind8230; Muqaddar ka Bandar will prove lucky. Never mind the title.

In the film by little-known director Varun Khanna, Kapur plays the lead but he does not get to be his old television self, pulling off jokes from the veejay hat. 8220;In the film, I spell bad luck for those around me. The strange part of my character is that I am subdued and scared, thanks to the spate of unfortunate events that occur due to my presence,8221; says Kapur, who essayed bit roles in Darna Mana Hai and Sssshhh.

Kapur, 30, says veejaying was always a means to the end 8212; acting. 8220;When you are offered a lot of money at a young age, it is hard to resist,8221; he says. 8220;But I quit because veejaying wasn8217;t challenging enough. It was easy for me to be fun.8221; He has gone on to sign an untitled film by Pritish Nandy Communications. Just perhaps Kapur has discovered acting is a trifle challenging.
