Documents seized from Gujarat mosque

Acting on a tip-off, the Ahmedabad City Detection of Crime Branch DCB officials on Monday have recovered several incriminating documents from a well inside the premises of the Sidi Saiyed Mosque near Lal Darwaja.

The documents include a register with details of police investigations into the 7/11 Mumbai serial blasts in Gujarati, a training manual for terror camps across the country and police interrogation techniques including Narco Analysis Test and the ways to come clear from it.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Himanshu Shukla made the revelation at a press briefing here on Tuesday. Shukla said most of the documents are in Urdu and Hindi, except a register which is in Gujarati.

The other documents which were recovered by the DCB officials include a manual detailing training methods for those who attend the terror training camps. Some of the documents contain passages urging people to die in the name of religion. The documents also include Urdu and Hindi journals and one of the articles in Nishan-e-Raah, has been edited by Mufti Abu Bashir, the alleged mastermind of the Ahmedabad blasts. 8220;Some of the literature is routine material, but some are very incriminating,8221; said Shukla.

These incriminating documents were kept in a plastic bag and thrown inside the well of the Sidi Saiyed Mosque by one of the accused of the Ahmedabad blasts.

Meanwhile, DCB officials raided a cyber cafeacute; at Lal Bahadur Shastri Complex near NID in Paldi area of Ahmedabad frequented by two of the main accused, Qayamuddin and Abdul Subhan alias Tauqeer between April and July. They seized the hard disks of the seven computers and sent them to the Forensic Science Laboratory FSL.

Joint Commissioner of Police, DCB, Ashish Bhatia said Tauqeer and Qayamuddin had visited the cafeacute; at least seven times before the July 26 blasts.
