Doctors perform complex surgery

VADODARA, July 15: A team of K G Patel Children Hospital doctors successfully carried out a complex craniofacial surgery by operating upon a youth with facial deformities recently.

According to a hospital spokesman, the 25-year old youth was suffering from fibrous dysplasia with various deformities in his face, skull and eyes. The deformities were rectified by the team of experts comprising Hiren Bhatt, Manish Malhotra, Mohan Wakade, Veena, Dipti and Charu, besides the para-medical staff of the hospital. Amish Mehta is currently giving orthodontic treatment to the patient.

The spokesman said though a breakthrough had been made in removing deformities of skull and eyes, other facial deformities would soon be corrected in phases.

The spokesman said it was a major achievement for the hospital staff and the experts8217; team, as the hospital had recently set up special facilities to carry out complex operations.
