
GURDASPUR, July 8: Taragarh Police on Monday night arrested a Pathankot Civil Hospital radiologist on charge of fabricating a medico legal report MLR to help an accused get a false case registered against his alleged victim.
Stating this here on Tuesday, SSP Gaurav Yadav said Rs 5,000 of the total Rs 14.000 bribe money paid to Harash Mahajan for the false MLR had been recovered from him and a case under Sections 182, 195, 197, 120-b of IPC registered against him and his accomplices. He said medical opinion that accused Mohinder Pal Singh could have self-inflicted injuries to get the false MLR had been obtained and corroborative evidence in the form of statements of witnesses recovered.
Giving details of the case, the police officer said one Rattan Singh suffered injuries during a fight with Mohinder Pal Singh at Kothe Nangal village on April 23 last after which the former was admitted to the civil hospital at Pathnkot where following his medical examination. A case was registered the same day against Mohinder Pal Singh and his accomplices.
Yadav said that the police inquiry revealed that Mohinder Pal Singh and his brother Joginder Pal Singh decided to obtain a false MLR to get a cross case registered against Ratan Singh and for this purpose they approached one Naltish Kumar Bikka. He said the threesome went to the Pathankot Civil Hospital and met Mahajan who asked hospital class IV employees Kartar Masih to help them in inflicting false injuries on Mohinder Pal8217;s person.
Subsequently, Mohinder Pal Singh was admitted to the hospital some 14 hours after the incident and was examined by Ashok Sharma who referred the case to Mahajan, a radiologist in the hospital.
