NEW DELHI, OCT 11: The DMK parliamentary party is meeting here on Tuesday to take a decision on the question of joining the National Democratic Alliance government to be sworn in on Wednesday.
Party general secretary K Anbazhagan arrived here on Monday night to participate in the deliberations to be presided over by party president M Karunanidhi.
Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on Sunday night hosted an exclusive dinner for Karunanidhi at his residence, in which Home Minister L K Advani and DMK leader Murasoli Maran also participated.
Indications are that the party would join the government provided it is assured of some key economic and infrastructure portfolios.
Maran indicated this when he told a television channel that they (the party) believed in reforms and were "liberalisers". The party felt it could do something if at all it decided to join the government.
