As the Diana inquest enters its third week, the father of chaffeur Henri Paul, who was killed alongside the Princess of Wales and her Egyptian boyfriend Dodi Al-Fayed in a Paris car crash ten years back, has raised disturbing new questions about the ‘accident’.
In an interview to the Daily Mail here, Jean Paul claimed that his son escorted a mystery intruder from the Ritz Hotel in Paris shortly before driving off in the Mercedes carrying the couple. He has also said that there were baffling irregularities in Henri’s finances.
“Shortly before the Mercedes left the Ritz, Henri had someone ejected from the Ritz… This man was not a customer.
This was told to me by someone at the Ritz and there were two witnesses. A report had been made to the reception desk about this man,” the 76-year-old was quoted as saying.
His claims came days after Dodi’s father Mohammed Al-Fayed had alleged at the inquest that the couple were assassinated by British secret service on orders from Prince Philip and Paul was on the payroll of MI6 “which was evident from his bank accounts”.
“I was as surprised as anyone about the mysterious bank accounts. It’s another anomaly, another mystery. It doesn’t add up but a lot of things don’t add up in this case,” Paul’s father said.
