SALEM, January 25: The Hosur-Denkanikota belt in TN8217;s industrially-backward Dharmapuri district is gaining importance as a coffee-growing region. Though the area is not a traditional home of coffee plantations, some growers have demonstrated the success of the crop there, and the Agricultural Development branch of the State Bank of India has decided to extend full support to cultivation of the commercial crop. Two projects 8211; one covering 64 hectares and the other a small holding 8211; are being implemented in the region.
