Denmark, a country with less than two per cent unemployment rate, needs 32,000 qualified professionals to fill vacancies in engineering, information technology and health care sectors, for which it is planning to invite Indians.
In a week’s time the Danish embassy in New Delhi will set up a ‘Work in Denmark Centre’ in its premises, the first of its kind outside Denmark, seeking applications from qualified Indian professionals to fill the vacancies in that country.
“The centre will disseminate information on vacancies, Danish culture, emigration processes besides projecting Denmark as the country to work in,” First Secretary at the Danish Embassy, Per Lersen said.
According to Danish officials, India was the first choice for the programme given its education level, easy adaptability of Indians and their proficiency in English.
The centre will actively counsel applicants for searching jobs in Denmark as it has prepared a “Positive List” that charts job requirements for 100 different education qualifications.
Currently, engineers from all streams including IT professionals trained in database management, website administration and software development, health care professionals from private practitioners to nurses, radiologists and others are being sought with a high priority.
The Danish Government has introduced easy visa rules for Indians and even family members will be allowed work permit in Denmark, provided they reside in the same address.
Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs and Danish-Indians will attend a function to establish the centre in New Delhi.
