Demand charter for SCs and STs

CHANDIGARH, July 19: The North India SC/ST and Backward Class Employees Presidium accorded a warm reception to the chairman of the National Commission for SC/ST, H. Hanumanthapa who arrived here today at DAV College, Sector-10.

During the function, the presidium presented a charter of demands increasing the percentage of quota reservation for schedule castes, schedule tribes and backward classes in services, filling up the backlog for SC/ST, BC in the different departments in the government offices.

They also demanded an act on the reservation policy.
