Delhi meet J&K in opener

NEW DELHI, August 18: The Badminton Association of India has released the draw for zonal inter-state badminton championships for Rahimtoola Cup, Chadha Cup, Narang Cup and Shafi Quareshi Cup to be held in different zones from September 22 to 25. However, the North East Zone meets will be conducted at Aizwal from September 14 to 18.

Delhi are pitted against Jammu and Kashmir in the first round of the North Zone Badminton Championships for the Rahimtoola Cup to held at Jammu. Punjab have been given bye in the first round and meet the winners of the first round between Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. Haryana face Chandigarh in the first round.

For the Narang Cup, Delhi will cross swords with Chandigarh in the first round while Punjab have been given bye in first round. Tie put offnThe DSA-SAIL Super League football match, between Shastri Club and Moonlight could not be played as scheduled at the flootlit Ambedkar Stadium here today because of power failure. The match has been rescheduled for August 26.
