Delhi gangster arrested in Chandigarh

The Delhi Police Special Staff today nabbed Rajesh, a member of the notorious Kishan Pehalwan gang active in UP, Delhi and Sonepat area of Haryana, from Sector 15 market here.

The Delhi Police Special Staff today nabbed Rajesh, a member of the notorious Kishan Pehalwan gang active in UP, Delhi and Sonepat area of Haryana, from Sector 15 market here. Rajesh, on whom Haryana Police had announced a reward of Rs 25,000, is wanted by the Delhi and Haryana police in connection with numerous murder and extortion cases.

At the market, Rajesh was found standing with Nitin Miglani, a DAV College First Year Bachelor of Business Administration student who was also taken away by the Delhi Police.

However, the Delhi Police8217;s operation left the UT Police running from pillar to post to make out what actually happened at the market. They had information that around 12 people, some of them armed with AK-47 rifles, abducted two youths at gunpoint from the market.

The incident took place around 2 pm, when Nitin and Rajesh were sitting on Nitin8217;s motorbike PB-22-C-0177 in the market. The eyewitnesses said three cars came from different directions and stopped near the two boys and 8220;about a dozen stout built men came out and pounced on the two8221;. 8220;When we intervened, one of them said the boy Rajesh was a terrorist and they had come to nab him. The other boy Nitin was also pushed in and they left. I informed the PCR but by the time police reached they were gone,8221; said an eyewitness.

The registration number of Nitin8217;s motorbike led to his identification. Nitin, who hails from Fazilka, had been staying as a paying guest in Sector 16 for the last two months. His father Mangat Ram is a Sub-Inspector in Food and Supply Department, PUNSUP.

Joint Commissioner of Police, Delhi, Karnail Singh said Rajesh was caught with three other members of Kishan Pehalwan gang, Bijender Singh of Sonepat, Deepak Kumar of Jhajjar and Bijendra alias Kalu of Rohtak, on November 9, 2004. The Delhi Police had recovered a large number of arms and ammunition from their possession at that time. 8220;Rajesh is a life-convict. He had gone out of jail on parole and never came back. We developed intelligence and finally managed to catch him,8221; he added. Nitin8217;s father Mangat Ram said his son was innocent and had gone to Chandigarh to pursue his studies. 8220;My son cannot be involved in any sort of crime. I am trying to get in touch with the Delhi Police,8221; he said.
