
NEW DELHI, March 17: Delhi Blues, helped by a fine unbeaten 103 by Rohit Ralhan, and half centuries each by by Maninder Bola and Munish Jolly defeated Malviya Club by nine wickets to move into the quarter-finals of the Roshanara Pepsi Cup cricket tournament at the Roshanara grounds here today.
Winning the toss, Delhi Blues put Malviya in. But the Malviya openers failed to give a good start that was needed and aided by the knocks of Govind Bihani 46, Rakesh Sharma 37 and Abhilash Chopra 44 they managed a decent total of 219 for seven.
Medium-pacer Mihir Diwakar and off-spinner Sumeet Dogra captured two wickets each while V. Arvind, Mark Ingty and Ajay Verma chipped in with a wicket each. Delhi Blues openers, replying to Malviya, went about their task methodically and put on 86 for the first wicket between Ralhan and Bola before the latter was out for 53. But Ralhan went on to complete the century in the company of Jolly and the two remained unseparated adding 137 for the second wicket to make 223 in 39.3 overs. Abhilash Chopra was the lone wicket-taker for Malviya.
Ralhan8217;s knock came off in 110 balls and contained one six and nine fours. Bola also struck seven hits to the boundary in his 53 while Jolly8217;s unbeaten 58 came off in 62 balls and he hit two fours.
